<p>Celebrating taiko&#8217;s national presence, enhancing understanding between cultures through international artistic collaboration and providing a platform for a all styles of taiko to be shared on one stage, the UK Taiko Festival is the biggest annual gathering of taiko players in Europe, offering the opportunity for taiko players of all ages and abilities to perform, learn, and share the energy, joy, and talent of the UK taiko community.</p>

The second Teacher Training course in the academic year, this weekend is suitable for those already leading a taiko group, and want to discover what they can do next!  

With a focus on collaborative composition and learning new repertoire not found in either of Jonathan Kirby's taiko books, you will return to your group with at least one new piece to play, some drills to share, and exercises in getting the creativity flowing within your group!

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1169" title="TeacherTrainingFeb2013" src="http://www.kagemusha.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/TeacherTrainingFeb20133-665x293.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="264" />Suitable for people who are already teaching a taiko group, content will be based on “Teaching Taiko: Principles &amp; Practice” with specific focus on composition and learning new repertoire. Kagemusha Taiko run two teacher-training classes per year – one in October for new teachers/group leaders and another in February half-term for those looking to take the next step.</p>
<p>Over two days you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other participants in composition, learn a new taiko piece that is not in either of the books, with some great take-away teaching tips and experiences to use with your group as soon as you get back. We give the opportunity to video the taiko pieces that are learned and created but also send you a DVD afterwards so that you can absorb it at your own pace when you’re back at home.</p>
<p>Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th February<br />
Arrive 9.30am for 10am start, finishing on Sunday by 4pm.<br />
There will be an evening meal at the Dartmoor Halway Inn on Saturday (not included in the cost).<br />
Lunch on both days will be provided at the cost of £5 per person per day and served in the Taiko Centre. Please bring this in cash on the day.<br />
Cost: £175 per person.</p>
<p>Accommodation onsite at Seale Hayne:<br />
Single Room £31 inc full continental breakfast (£25.00 no food)<br />
Twin Room £52 inc full continental breakfast (£40.00 no food)<br />

It&#8217;s perfect for those who want a taste of our other courses and classes on offer, and for those who want to do something a bit different on a Monday afternoon &#8211; it&#8217;s a great way to meet new local people, or perhaps you&#8217;d like to come with a friend, parent, child, or colleague. No need to book, just arrive, ready to have some fun whilst learning a beautiful and powerful artform.</p>
<p>Suitable for children 7 and above (all under 10s to be accompanied by an adult).<br />
